FAQ

Q: Where did the name Pathways come from?
The name ‘Pathways’ is a play on words making a scriptural reference to Psalm 25:4-5.

Show me your ways, LORD, teach me your paths. Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long. (Psalm 25:4-5 NIV)

Q: What should I expect?
At Pathways Church you will encounter authentic worship, a life-changing message and real people attempting to live out a real faith. The environment is friendly, casual and inviting!

Q: What should I do with the kids?
We love your kids and, like you, we want them to have the best experience possible. We believe this experience is with our Kidz226 Ministry. There they will have the opportunity to learn God’s Word in a way they can relate to and understand, and have fun doing it! This also frees you up to worship without any distractions. If you decide to bring small children to worship, we respectfully ask that you use our lobby seating area to view the service, if they become noisy or distracting.

Q: What time should I be there?
You should give yourself plenty of time to get the kids checked in to Kidz226, get some freshly brewed coffee and pastries, and find a good seat. For this reason, we recommend that you arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the service you wish to attend.

Q: What time are Services?
We offer four identical services each week! Our services follow the normal calendar week, with our first service on Wednesdays at 7pm. The remaining three options are Saturdays at 7pm, and Sundays at 9:30am & 11:15am.

Q: What “style” of music is used in your services?
At Pathways, we believe in celebrating what God has done, and is doing! Therefore our services are upbeat, full of passion and energy. While our services favor a contemporary style of music, we do like to keep a blend of different musical styles. From time to time, a “non-Christian” song will be added in the service that hits on topic with that days message. If you would like to listen to some of the music used during our services recently, take a look at the “What’s that song?” section.

Q:  Do I need a Bible?
Our Pastor preaches from the Bible at every service, so it would enable you to enjoy the service more if you too had a Bible. Pastor Brent typically preaches from the NIV and the Message translations. However, other translations are often used as well. Therefore, bring a version of the Bible you feel comfortable reading. If you do not have a Bible, don’t worry! Any passages from the Bible will be displayed on our projection screens. When you walk in the door a “worship guide” will be given to you that will contain the message notes for the day as well. If you have a smart phone or other electronic device you carry you may wish to install the YouVersion Bible application (a staff favorite).

Q: How do I get there?
Pathways Church is located off of Dolly Parton Parkway, across from Sevier County High School. From Dolly Parton Parkway, turn towards the Airport on Industrial Park Dr. Make a right at the first intersection (Wagner Dr). The Church will be on the hill to your left, just past the large brown warehouse.

Q: What should I wear?
Well, what are you wearing? Jeans and a t-shirt are acceptable options for our laid-back environment. At Pathways we are more concerned about your presence with us, than what you are wearing.

Q: Besides the main services, do you have other activities?
Yes! Beyond our services, the best ways to get connected into the life of the Church is through Volunteering, Various Ministries and Life Groups.
